David Walliams lost his contract with longtime publisher.

The author

Acclaimed children's author and TV personality David Walliams has parted ways with his UK book publisher, as confirmed by the firm.

A spokesman for the publisher said: "After careful consideration, and with the guidance of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing any new titles by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the decision was reached following an inquiry regarding claims about inappropriate behaviour towards women.

The publisher has not elaborated on the specific rationale behind the move, noting: "It is not our policy to discuss confidential company decisions."

A Highly Successful Publishing History

Walliams is one of the UK's most successful children's authors, having sold more than 60 million copies worldwide in five dozen languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

Some of his books, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into television films.

To date, he has released over four dozen titles combined, encompassing a festive story titled *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins in October.

A Dual Career

He first rose to fame on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE back in 2017 in recognition of his work for philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

The publisher's decision comes after the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss this past October.
